Middleton School was formed by the amalgamation of Broxbournebury and Hillside schools in September 1990. We moved to our new premises just outside of the town of Ware in September 1993 and opened as a Primary School for pupils who have Moderate Learning Difficulties, Speech and Language and Communication Difficulties and Autism.
With a capacity for approximately 80 children, we cater for pupils from 4 – 11 years with a wide range of needs including autism, speech, language and communication needs and a variety of other challenges. The pupils come from the whole of East Hertfordshire, from Bishops Stortford to Waltham Cross. All pupils at Middleton have an Education Health Care Plan.
Our school offers advice support and training to local mainstream schools as part of Hertfordshire’s response to inclusion. This service is called Outreach.
